I'm a Charlotte local, a D1 all-time record holder, and a full-time professional who believes the next generation of Charlotte lacrosse players deserves more than a roster spot. They deserve to arrive ready to compete, contribute, and make an immediate impact.
A note on availability: I work full-time in real estate development and can only take on a limited number of athletes each season. If I'm at capacity, I'll tell you honestly — and help connect you with other resources in the Charlotte community.
I'm Matt Bohmer — born and raised in Charlotte, a product of Charlotte Catholic High School, and a 2019 US High School All-American. I played five seasons at Saint Joseph's University as a four-time team captain, where I became the all-time leading goal scorer and the first player in program history to reach 200 career points.
In 2024, I earned Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference honors and helped lead the Hawks to a 12-4 record and their second-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. I did all of that while earning a Master's in Real Estate Finance — because the discipline it takes to compete at that level translates to everything else in life.
Today I work full-time in commercial real estate development in Charlotte. My work with athletes is rooted in a genuine belief in what this city's lacrosse community can become — and a commitment to helping its players not just reach the next level, but be ready to thrive when they get there.

Every session, clinic, and program I run is designed with one goal in mind: producing players who don't just earn a roster spot — they compete for playing time from day one. That means D1-level expectations, honest feedback, and technical development that actually transfers to game speed.
Individualized coaching built around your specific game — shooting mechanics, dodging, off-ball movement, and film review. I take on only a handful of private clients so every athlete gets the focused attention they need to genuinely improve.
Apply to work with me →Small-group sessions for 8–12 Charlotte-area athletes. Competitive drills, position-specific work, and the intensity of peer-level competition. This is where habits built in private sessions get tested under pressure.
Apply to work with me →I'm invested in Charlotte lacrosse at the program level. If you're a club director or high school coach who wants to build something lasting — not just run a one-off clinic — I'd love to have that conversation.
Let's talk →I lived the recruiting process as a player, then spent five more years watching it up close at the D1 level. The families who navigate it best are the ones who start early, position their athlete honestly, and build real relationships with coaches — not the ones who blast highlight films at 500 programs. My capacity is intentionally small because this kind of guidance only works if I'm genuinely invested in your athlete's outcome.
Fill out the form and I'll get back to you personally within 24 hours. I read every message. If I can help, I'll tell you exactly how. If my schedule won't allow it, I'll be upfront — and I'll do my best to connect you with someone in the Charlotte community who can.
No hard sell. No automated responses. Just a Charlotte lacrosse guy who wants to see this community produce impact players.
Five seasons. 149 goals. 28 hat tricks. This is what D1 attack looks like at its best — and the standard I hold every athlete I work with to.
"He's been the most energetic guy on our team every single day. It's hard to put into words what he does for our team."

Matt Bohmer · St. Joe's Lacrosse Highlights · SJU All-Time Leading Scorer
I take on a small number of athletes because my reputation depends on their results. Here's what families, coaches, and teammates have said about working with me and playing alongside me.
Matt completely changed how my son approaches the game mentally. He doesn't just teach skills — he teaches the D1 mindset. Our son showed up to his first college practice ready to compete, not adjust.
When he committed to come here, we knew we were getting a terrific player. But I don't think we knew how good Matt was going to be, and how steady he was going to be over the course of his career.
The recruiting process felt completely overwhelming until we started working with Matt. He helped us build a real school list, coached my daughter through coach emails, and was always honest about fit. Worth every penny.
No one deserves it more than Matt with the amount of work he puts in. I'm glad I got to witness it, and I'm glad he gets to live it.
My son did two private sessions before his showcase and the improvement in his shooting mechanics was immediately noticeable. Three coaches reached out after that showcase. Matt knows exactly what they're looking for.
He's made a tremendous imprint on the culture of our program — the lasting one, to say the least. He's the first to compliment his teammates and give credit to others.
